Claim your listing on infratoapp: what happens, in order

You prove you control your company domain with a work email, you get a workspace as its admin, and you can then edit some fields and request changes to others.

The short version of the claim

To claim a company listing on infratoapp you sign in with an email address at the company’s own domain and click the link we send. The click is the proof that you control the domain, so there is no form and no operator review. You become the admin of a workspace for that organisation. Claiming is free, and listing stays free whether you claim or not.

The listing exists before you arrive. It is one of 1,116 live products across 10 layers, written by us from public sources, each fact carrying the page it was read from. Claiming does not create the page. It hands you the parts of it that a company is better placed to keep right than we are.

None of the paid products can be bought before this step. Every plan belongs to an organisation, so the claim is the first thing anyone at a vendor does here, whatever they mean to do after it.

Step one: search before you sign in

The claim page starts with a search box, and the order matters. A company we already list is claimed with one work email. A company we do not list can be created the listing from the same box, and it goes into the same verification queue as every other new entry. We check it before anything is published.

Searching first exists to stop a duplicate. Two listings for one company have to be merged by hand afterwards, which is slow and leaves two histories to reconcile. The screen shows the company you are about to claim, with its logo, before anything is created, so you can stop if the match is wrong.

A company with email before it has a website is allowed. The website field stays empty and the profile cannot go live until somebody fills it.

Why a Gmail address cannot claim a company

A company profile is granted to a domain, not to a person. An address at a personal mail provider says who you are and nothing about who you work for, so it cannot claim a company listing however senior its owner is. The domain in the address you sign in with is taken as your company.

This also decides what happens when a colleague got there first. Where someone at your domain already claimed the listing, you are shown that, with their address masked so that guessing a domain cannot reveal a mailbox. You ask them for a seat. If nobody answers, you can ask us to look.

Colleagues who sign in from the same domain join the shared workspace straight away, read-only until an admin says otherwise. Working somewhere is not proof that anyone wants you editing what readers see, so promotion is left to a person.

What you can change yourself, and what you can only ask for

Once claimed, you edit the tagline, the description and the logo directly. You can answer the questions we ask of your category, each with a source, instead of leaving a gap; those answers are marked as yours and reviewed. The vendor guide lists the same edits from the other side.

Some fields are requests. A change to a field that decides where we read facts from, or where a product ranks, is something you ask for and we review within two working days. The record of the request stays in the History tab. Category belongs here too: it is never pre-filled at claim time, because a wrong category drops you into a comparison against competitors you do not have.

A third group you cannot change at all. Prices are read from your own pricing page, community benchmarks belong to the community, reviews are never editable, and your position in any ranking or comparison is not a field anybody can set.

What to have ready before you start

Have a mailbox at the domain your listing points to, the URL of the page that holds your prices, and a source for each category answer you intend to give. A source is a page we can open and read, so a sentence on your own documentation is better than a line in a sales deck.

Decide who your first admin is. The person who claims becomes admin, and that person is the one colleagues will ask for seats and the one who later sees any plan and invoice. A shared role account at the domain works, but somebody has to read its mail.

A value on the listing that is wrong today does not have to wait for the claim. Anyone can dispute a value with a page that says otherwise, and a claimed vendor uses the same route.

The first things to do as admin

Read the listing as a buyer would, top to bottom, and note every field that shows no answer on record. Those are the gaps a buyer filtering on that attribute can drop you for. Each one is either a category question you can answer with a source, or a sign that the page we read from does not say it.

Then check the source of every price. Hover a figure and you see the sentence, the URL and the read date. If the URL is an old page, pointing us at the new one is a change request, reviewed within two working days. If the figure is simply wrong, that is a dispute.

Add seats last, once you know who needs to write and who only needs to read. Colleagues at the domain arrive read-only, so nothing is exposed while you decide. The thirty-day totals of views, comparisons, outbound clicks and opt-ins appear in the portal from the start, and they are the quickest way to see whether anyone reads the page you have just taken over.

What we could not answer

  • ⚑The claim page mentions a route for companies without mail on their own domain and one for repository admins; this post does not describe either in detail because the steps are not published.
  • ⚑We do not publish how long the verification queue takes for a listing created at claim time.

Questions people ask about this

How do I claim my company on infratoapp?

Search for the company on the claim page, then sign in with an email address at the company’s own domain and click the link that arrives. The click proves control of the domain. There is no form and no operator review, and the person who claims becomes the admin of the organisation’s workspace.

Can I claim a listing with a personal email address?

No. A company profile is granted to a domain, so an address at a personal mail provider cannot claim one. If your company has no mail on its own domain, there is a route where a person picks the request up instead of the automatic check.

Do I have to claim my listing for it to appear?

No. The listing is there whether or not anyone claims it, with the facts we found and the page each came from. Claiming is free and is how a vendor corrects the record, adds what only it knows, and sees how often the page is looked at.

How buying works here: an invoice from a person

There is no checkout and no card on file. You email, a person creates an order and sends an invoice, and the plan switches on when the invoice is marked paid.

Pro Profile: what it is, and what it does not buy

Pro Profile is a reviewed block in your own words at the top of one product page, labelled as yours. It changes no fact and no rank, and it is sold per product.

A crawler reads your own pricing page on a schedule, keeps the sentence each rate came from with its URL and date, and hides any price older than 21 days.
