Everything you paste into an AI tool leaves your hands. So what did your last paste quietly give away?
We think cleaning means deleting everything sensitive. Do that, and the AI cannot help you at all. Safe, and useless.
The trick is knowing the difference. Names, contact details, keys and confidential remarks go. Amounts, dates and what happened stay.
Swap each one for a label, like supplier or customer, so the AI knows something was there, and fill it back in later.
Then read it once more before you paste. The one line you skip can be the one with the bank details.

What is the Clean it before you paste lab?
A practice exercise in removing what should not leave your company before you paste text into an AI tool, while keeping what the AI needs to help. You watch one message cleaned four ways, then clean 5 texts yourself.
Why not just delete everything sensitive?
Because the AI then cannot help. Amounts, dates, error messages and what happened usually identify nobody and are what the answer depends on. The skill is taking out the person, the contact details, the keys and the confidential remarks, and leaving the facts.
Is the text I edit sent to an AI?
No. A fixed checker on our server compares your text against the details we planted in it. No AI service is called and nothing you type is saved. A safe clean records which text and the day, so it counts towards your level.
Are these real people or keys?
No. Every name, company, number and key is invented. The phone numbers come from a UK range reserved for fiction and the emails use example.com.
Does this replace my company’s AI policy?
No. It trains a habit. Your company may forbid some data from any AI tool, or approve a tool that is allowed to see it. Follow that first.
